The Facilities Maintenance Division provides functional, clean and comfortable facilities. Three Maintenance Workers and two Stationary Engineers maintain and operate 70 buildings totaling approximately 450,000 square feet at locations throughout the City.

Facilities Maintenance staff perform preventative and emergency repairs for City Hall, Recreation Center, Community Center, Police Department, George Kristoff Water Treatment Plant, Public Works Corporation Yard, 20 Parks, 5 Fire Stations, 23 Sewer and Storm Water pumping stations, and various outbuildings. City staff utilizes a Facilities Work Order system for specific comfort requests and to report problems requiring attention and schedule routine preventative maintenance. Typical preventative maintenance would be HVAC filter changes, coil cleans and fan motor belt changes to 125 heating and air conditioning units.

Water heaters, water filters, garbage disposals and all lavatory devices. Pool equipment and chemical dispensing systems.

Mechanical

HVAC-Heating cooling and refrigeration units.

Architectural

Project Management, plan checks and system recommendations for new buildings. Space Planning, move management and office reconfigurations, painting, roof and gutters, janitorial and elevator maintenance.

Property Restoration

Insurance claim management. Mold, water damage, fire and asbestos remediation.

Electrical

Interior and exterior lighting (lamps and ballasts). Audio/Visual and various control systems.

Fire Protection/Life Safety

Fire Alarm Control Panels. Wet Pipe Fire Suppression systems. Monitoring Services. NFPA System Certifications, Fire Extinguishers.

Security

Alarm Systems, security guards, electronic access control and keyed locking systems.

Grounds

Pest control, fencing, automatic gates.
